I haven’t listened to vinyl much lately, but I visited a local record shop with a friend last weekend not sure if I’d find anything I’d be interested in. I ended up picking up these two records. I’ve not listened to Bob Dylan’s Nashville Skyline from start to finish before, but it was so good!

I couldn’t find much on the Billie Holiday album online but took a chance on it. I listened later that night and loved every track! It was funny, though. My daughter asked why I was playing Christmas music…? She said it sounded like Christmas music. I thought it was funny at first, but I can see why she might think that. She’s heard Perry Como, Gene Autry, Bing Crosby, that old “vintage” sound, each year during the holidays. While normally she just wants to listen to her music and and doesn’t really tolerate the music of “her old man”, I think she’s really grown to love, hearing those classic tunes played each year. Now if I can only get her interested in similar music during the other 11 months of the year!
